La Roux, the “tomboy” pop sensation from Brixton has decided it is time to start her modeling career with a very shocking move. La Roux, will be walking the catwalk for Viktor and Rolf, an amazing achievement. But hang on that is not shocking, we hear you cry. No, but the collection she will be walking the runway for is menswear. Yes that’s right, a girl in the boys locker room, so to speak. La Roux states “I love suits, I wouldn’t feel comfortable in girls’ clothes”. La Roux (Elly Jackson) will be the first model down the runway, and will be dressed in a complete menswear tuxedo and Viktor & Rolf signature glasses. She will then be followed by a pack of complete male models, as expected. The design duo stated on the subject: “We love her style. We love her authenticity. We love the way she plays with gender. So it felt logical. She’s right for our men’s clothes,”So what do you think about this move by V&R and La Roux, is it an interesting concept to blur the lines of gender? Or should La Roux be sticking to her music? Let us know in the comment box below!
