So, what do you personally know Gucci best for? The iconic double G monogram pattern or their outstanding collections that hit the catwalk in Milan each season? We bet you didn’t know that one of their staff has been busy creating a Nuclear Reactor. While we let that sink in, here comes the explanation. Mark Suppes the designer of the Gucci website has been developing his very own nuclear reactor, right in the heart of New York. We’re not kidding either, it might be hard to believe but it is all 100% true. In fact the story gets more and more bizarre, it seems Mark Suppes began constructing the reactor just over two years ago, with parts costing $35,000. Which he didn’t obtain from NASA or the Government, he didn’t even try your local hardware store, oh no… try EBAY. So to line up the story so far, the Gucci web designer has been building a nuclear reactor, in the heart of Brooklyn in some random warehouse with nearly $50,000 worth of parts bought from everyone’s favourite auction site Ebay. But before all those of you in New York start running for your lives, we can report that the project is above board and completely legal. Plus, a professor in chemical engineering states: “The attractiveness of the fusion reaction is you don’t produce large quantities of radioactive materials”, erm, well we suppose that’s ok then? However, we are stupendously impressed that the “holy grail of energy” is being built by a man from fashion. Who said fashionistas weren’t smart, hey? Mark Suppes we salute you!
